April,
You would worry me if you weren't scared. You are making a LIFECHANGING decision. This will allow you to live a long life with your son. It's a little scarey for the kids, but then they see you getting healthier, moving around more, laughing more and enjoying life more...You are such a sweet mommy to be freezing meals for him, I did that too, and it was appreciated.
(((hugs)))

It's hard to remember, but when my son was 8, he liked mac'n cheese (easy to freeze)...quesadillas, easy to fix in a hurry, burritos with refried beans n' cheese (and you'll be so happy to be able to have some refried beans after surgery)...bagged salads are great if your son likes salad (but most kids don't, lol)...pasta dishes are easy to freeze in individual servings, and the cost is pretty cheap, chili is always a winner with kids (and you, a week or 2 post op). When my boy was 8, he was easily satisfied with a pb&j or turkey sandwich and some carrot or celery sticks or fruit. Don't kill yourself, once you're a week or so post op, you'll probably be just fine to fix something quick. Your tummy most likely won't be craving anything, you've been looking to this for so long, you're most likely super prepared and excited to get that tool working. I hope some of your family or friends step up for you.

Smile Thanks for the support!

I'm so fortunate to have found this website. I'm on day 3 of my 2-week liquid diet. It's rough, but I know I can make it with all the warm wishes and support. It really helps to be able to share with those who are travelling or have travelled the same path. I'm still getting asked if I'm sure I want to do this. I wish everyone could understand the way you all do. As if I would take having my insides rearranged lightly! Thank heaven for you all! Looking forward to days free of foot pain. An uncomplicated procedure and speedy recovery to all my fellow March staplers!
