I will call Kelly. I did the scheduling with Leslie, alot of discussion about the date of my trip in relation to surgery. I can't imagine that she would schedule without consulting Kelly or Dr. C. I will definitly talk to Kelly though, and will reschedule without a second thought if she says what you say.

Let us know how it goes, Troy. I know a lot of people that took vacations or trips before their surgeries because of this very issue, me included!

Take care.

Default Traveling

I had to postpone my surgery because I'd won a trip to Hawaii in May and then my "buddy" went on vacation this month. I don't think I'd have been able to handle that long 5 1/2 hour flight if I was only a month post-op. It was tough enough being big, much less big and in pain! I didn't have a choice as our trip was scheduled thru work and it would not have been fair to ask 7 other employees/families to postpone for me! It was a lot of fun. I did ATV riding and snorkling. I would like to go back later and do parasailing! I hope everything works out for you. I am getting close, scheduled for 7/7.

Default Rescheduled surgery

Well, I called to talk to Kelly, and she's out all week. My friend Bill just got back in to town (He has had the surgery) and based on what he told me and some of you guys also, I have rescheduled my surgery. Unfortunatly the date I was offered is now taken. I am now scheduled for Aug 10th. I am glad I didn't go ahead with it only 18 days before my trip though. Thanks all of you for your input, even if it's not what I wanted to hear. I'm a little frustrated and disappointed right now. I know I'll get over it. I sure am glad that we have this message board. It sure does help to be able to talk to peopole that have been through this before. Thanks again.

Troy.

Unhappy

I know August 10th seems like it will never get here but...it really will come up fast. Enjoy that vacation with your family!! You will be glad you put the surgery off...who knows when you will feel like traveling after surgery. Hopefully we'll see you at some more support group meetings before your surgery!! Take care!

Default It'll go fast

Troy, sorry that you couldn't get it sooner. I had to schedule 6 weeks out too and I thought the wait would be forever (better than the weight being forever ). I am 2 weeks and 2 days away now and it is going really fast. Enjoy your vacation with your family, it will help it go quicker. Best wishes, Pam

Thanks Pam & Karen.

I'll be in touch with you Pam before your surgery on the 7th.

I'll be in Cabo and unable to attend next months East County support meeting.
