Default liquid diet -need specifics

What specific recommendations are made when you are put on the liquid diet? I am wondering about nutrition facts specifically...how many calories, carbs, protein, etc. Also, how much to consume in a day and what brands are recommended.... Any help is appreciated!
Thanks,
Sara

I didn't have to do a liquid diet pre-op, but the Isopure chocolate protein that I use everyday has about 300 calories (when mixed with milk, and I use 1/2 the serving of powder), no carbs (except what is in the milk already), 41 grams of protein (16 come from the 16 ounces of milk I use), and I drink one shake a day. Occasionally, I'll have two if I didn't eat enough, but that's rare.

Hope this helps.

-Mike

One odd, but useful tidbit my surgeon also included- though I only had to do liquid for a couple days pre-op. No red jello, etc before surgery, so when he is in my tummy he can tell what is, well, blood. SF Jello was my saving grace! And SF Popsicles! I still love those!

I am starting my liquid diet on March 1. They told me between 60-70 grams of protien per day. Oh...and I hate liquid thick drinks, so I am going to have a tough time. I have nectar lemondae and fuzzy navel. I also have plain to mix in my broth (but am going to buy some unjury powder post surgery)

I am trying not to buy too much b4 the surgery. Just enough to get me through the next 3 weeks.

I am actually going to do breakfast shake this week, eat a healthy lunch, and broth with protien for dinner, that was I do not have to go cold turkey next week! lol
