Hi Everyone!
I've been going through the pre-surgical requirements process since late April in 2007. I completed my six months physician supervised diet on December 7th and expected to be having surgery by late January or early February. After waiting patiently for six weeks, I called the weight loss center to check on the status of my insurance approval only to find out that it had never been received by the insurance company and had to be re-submitted.
Once they did that, then they told me that the insurance requirements I had been given at the beginning were incorrect and that I had to complete two more tests.
So, I've just completed those and finally received my insurance approval! I have a pre-op EGD on March 7th and hope to have a surgery date shortly after that! It feels like I've been waiting for this forever, and I'm getting very excited, a little bit nervous too, but mostly just impatient and excited!

Oh, I was horrible at waiting, too! It is a long process, but for me, it gave me time to research and feel GREAT about my decision. I've read books on surgery and plastics, compiled some recipes for 6 months out when I can eat. This way, I can obsess about surgery by doing something productive!
Good luck! It is a hard wait though. I totally understand!
