Hi I had pain and discomfort for a while post op dont worry it will ease off. Take it nice and easy and dont over do anything while the stitches/staples heal ;-) you are going to look amazing and the scars will be talking points at the beach in your new bikini...now you didnt think that would be happening !! but yes beachwear will be on the cards this summer it took me a while to readjust to the 'new me' under all those layers of fat.. its amazing
so best of luck to you and keep shrinking...

Alison, I am telling you, those first days are so hard. My husband eats in the kitchen, because I am so cranky and he is eating yummy stuff, and I am drinking my food. He though, has become quite the broth afficianado (sp?). I get different broths every night for dinner. I do find that drinking broth and a shake at the same time helps get me through. (Although I do understand that after the surgery, I cannot do this due to the size of my pouch.) I drink the shake first, then drink my broth, and whew...I am left with the taste of soup, not protein. So that helps me. 9 more day and we are there. Anyone can do 9 days!!! lol

Oh and i did have to eat a peanut butter granola bar on Wednesday (nutritionist told me too...my blood sugar dropped drastically and I was not functioning, I passed out and all) But that was my only solid since Feb 29~and they were like DO NOT EAT ANYTHING ELSE SOLID! Oh how I wanted a BoJangles biscuit! BUt alas, i had to hold off.

Be strong my friend...be strong!

Default Surgery tomorrow...gettin nervous

I am sitting here drinking my liquid dinner and the nerves are starting to set in. I know that I am making the right decision, but I fear blood clots, a leak and all of the other complications that can come with this.

My surgery is at 1130 am so make some room on that losers bench cause I'm moving in!

And I totally envy you on liquid diets for days and weeks. I have been on it for 24 hours and am totally craving texture...I'm ok with the foods but I want to chew something!

Good luck tomorrow Robin, I know you will do well! Oh and I envy you only having to do a day of liquids. I am on day 10 and I think I am about to float away.

Texture...I hadn't thought about that, but you are right! That is what I want! And, spicy food! Last night, I dreamed that I "went off the wagon". In the dream, my big cheat was a roast beef sandwich and rice!

My doctor wants me to get in 60 grams of protein each day, but I'll just tell ya the truth, I'm tired of sweet stuff! All of the shakes are just sweet to me! Blech! That sums up so much of my life these days...blech! I can't wait to get to pureed foods. I want canned chicken and eggs! It's a sad day when that is what you crave! (Obviously that and the roast beef sandwich and rice!)
