I been having lots of problems sleeping lately, I do fall asleep, but I wake up often and keep looking at the clock to see what time it is.

I am dreaming lots too, and it has to do with this upcoming surgery, especially now that I have the date. I think the worst been happening since I started taking the vitamins, I don't remember ever waking up so often at night, thinking that a couple hours have gone by but in reality been only a few minutes I hope it gets better or I am going to get me something to help me sleep, I need my stength, but at the same time I am not weak from not sleeping well, I find I have lots more energy then what I used to. I know droping some of the weight has helped.

Any ideas on what to do to sleep better?? I even stay up later at nights to try to get even more sleepy, it don't make difference, then all I do is dream.

Wait till you get the LorTab after surgery. Here's a sample of some of my greatest Dream Hits:

-dreamt I was a taco and that my wife was eating me. (My foot was actually stuck in the bottom part of the bed, so no Freudian analyses, please! )
-I woke up waving once because in my sleep I had been in a parade.
-Naked in the pool. (Wait...that one may have happened for real...)
-dreamt that someone broke into our house and when I went to kick the person as they stood near my bed, I nearly fell out of bed and my arm hit the nightstand. (It left a mark)
-dreamt that I got laid off from teaching and went to work in an ice cream shop/video store.
-I also dreamt a lot of wolves for some reason, and seashells.

Post op drugs are great!

-Mike

Mike I was hysterical laughing at your dreams. I had some pretty messed up dreams.. one was my friend and i held up a wawa for cadbury creme eggs & pizza hut...

i had seen the previews for that movie AWAKE.... so that next day i had a dream that i was awake during my surgery....

last one was a lil creepy and due to tylenol pm.. and i will not divulge it.

.. trust me.. its lack of sanity and the drugs that make you have these dreams... eventually they go away.

Christmas Eve dream ... not exactly Sugar Plums!

I dreamt that I was at the mall to pick up my daughter from a field trip to Washington DC. Waiting were two women (also waiting for their kids), somehow we got chatting, and they both had Lap RNY --- one was waiting for her full body lift... both had "my" surgeon. We all sat at a table and they worked on scrapbooks, and I played around with some colored pencils. Finally I told them I was so hungry I could eat my pencils... they laughed, and I went off to find food. The closest place in the mall was McDonalds... so I went in looking for something to satisfy my growling monster of a stomach... They had a display of shrimp, so I asked how it was served... they presented two bulky sandwiches with shrimp mixed in with who knows what... and a dark black soup with shrimp floating around in it...

Yet, on display were beautiful pink shrimp in 3 sizes... I asked for 3 large shrimp with some sauce and they charged me $5.89. I filled a cup with ice, and couldn't find the water dispenser - so I hit a "water bottle" dispenser... by then I was dying of hunger, so when the red Kool-aid stuff came out, I convinced myself it was Crystal Lite, and went back to my spot with the "ladies." One of the ladies decided she was hungry too and came back with a steaming plate of a Chinese Shrimp dish...

Our kids arrived === and although they'd been on a trip together, none of them knew each other... my daughter excused herself and went off to smoke a cigarette... I told the ladies, "Don't worry - she's all grown up now, married, has a nice house, a good job and is expecting her first baby."

Now --- how time warped and un-Christmassy is that dream!!! ???

Speaking of my daughter... Everyone will be arriving soon for Christmas brunch and gifts... I'd better scoot!

MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL!!!

Katie, the Queen of Wierd Dreams!

My only surgery related dream so far has been:

I went in on my morning of surgery, and the hosptial was filled with a lot of police men because all of the doctors had been operating without licenses, so my surgeon said that they needed to get me in and out fast before the police got to that end of the hospital. The surgeon came in the pre-op room just as I was getting ready to go in the OR, and he said that he had never done one of my opperations, but it sounds interesting, so he was going to go read up on it, and he'd be back to get me in 10 minutes to start surgery. It was a little odd, and I am glad that it does not work that way!
