Default Getting closer and closer

Well the next step in the process is done. Got the therypist and the Doc to send the letters saying I have fulfilled the things I needed to. These were told to me in my initial eval. i was supposed to expand my circle of friend(I joined the mens group at church). I was told you get meds eval and change or ad to my meds to help me to function beter(now on welbutron.) I was told to try to loose 10% of my weight(have starting walking more than normal). Also was told to start trying to eat as if i already had receive the surgury(i am eating cream suops, jello, clear soups etc) and the fianl thing was eval mt childhood and discuss the reasons i am OW and what the childhood may have had to do with it,(plenty of therypy and on going councling). I called the WLS docters office and they told me when they revceived the 2 letters they would get the final ok and sent the file to the doctor for a follow up visit and then to the insurance. As UHC is usually fast with thrir approvals, this could happen very soon. At first i was happy about the news but as I sat there I started to get scared again. man it hit me I was almost there. WOW. I am scared but will not bow out and cancell. I will follow this through to the end.
I have a question that was asked me. How long does a normal surgury take? I have a different surgeon than most of you but I would figure the open operation is about the same throughout the USA. ALso, Are there any folks in florida or tampabay area on here?

Soo...Best wishes and be careful today...Lots of tropical rains.

Default Cj,

It sounds like your progressing like normal. It's perfectly normal to be scared, we'd think you weren't normal if you weren't. I wish you peace. Good luck on finding those childhood demons, it can be a tough road.

I didn't have the open procedure, I had it done lap, but there are people here that can help you. I think the lap procedure takes 3 1/2 to 4 hours? Please someone correct me if I wrong.

You'll be just fine!

We were told surgery usually takes about 2 to 2-1/2 hours. I slept through it so I don't really remember. <grin>!

Thumbs up You Are In My Prayers!

My husband says mine took 2 to 2 1/2 hours and then about an hour in recovery. I glad to hear of your progress! Keep us posted!
