Default Protein drink

OMG i wanted to share this because i remember someone saying they had a hard time finding one they like. i bought this "tub" of Bariatrix protein mix vanilla flavor from my doc office. I was sooooo nervous this morning taking it. So i got out my blender and mixed it with milk and 2 slpenda packets. OMG it was yummy it tasted like vanilla carnation breakfast stuff.

So if anyone is having troubles you can try this one. i'm not so worried how to get protein in after surgery now

The problem for me is now that I'm right at a month & a half my tastes have totally changed. I hate every single thing I have put in my mouth lately. Either it tastes yucky or the texture is yucky. I hope that this doesn't happen to you since you bought a "tub" of it.

With a 30 day supply you should be fine. I was picturing this huge tub in my head that I can't even describe.

That is what I was going to say...my tastes totally changed too. I waited until after surgery to find the one I liked and once I found it I was a happy camper!

My tastes changed too! For a long time I just did not want anything in my mouth. I did not want to have to feel food being chewed or swallowed. Everything tasted wrong. The only thing I felt comfortable with was orange popcicles, which I did not like before. Before surgery I used to love tomato soup, either home made or canned. I even found a way to make it high in protien for after surgery. Surgery day came and went and when I was ready for full liquids I tried a bit of tomato soup and just gagged. I still can't stand stuff.

That is what I buy when I don't have a GNC coupon. It mixes easily, I put a scoop of the powder into a shaker bottle with 8 oz of water and shake and shake and shake. It tastes good, not delicious like a McD. milkshake, but good so I don't dread drinking it. The colder the better, but I am so cold natured I mix it with hot tap water sometimes and try to pretend it it hot chocolate. You must be careful not to raise the temp of powdered protien products too high as it can destroy the protien.

Oh no, it's not your swallowing ability that changes, it's the way food tastes and feels in your mouth that changes. Certain things just might not taste good anymore, while other things you just might love that you never liked before. Everyone seems to respond differently.
