I was at my Weight Loss Surgery Team's Christmas Party tonight... I wanted to bug the staff about my approval, but thought.... nah, they'd tell me if they had heard something from Aetna...

So I enjoyed sitting with familiar faces, hearing their stories, seeing their pictures... Watching them "Big Pants Parade..." and the healthy munchies (giant shrimp, fresh fruit)... and sampled some protein drinks... I picked up lots of goodies including protein bars, vitamins, calcium tablets, pedometer, note paper, etc...

The psychiatrist did a presentation about addiction transfer (citing Oprah's recent show)... then they started handing out door prizes.... I heard my name off to the side and then someone said, "There she is!" The gal who sets up all the appointments came over and said, "Did you hear from Aetna today?" No, I replied - and she said "I did! You've been approved!" I turned bright red and my eyes welled up with tears - then from the front of the room I heard my name called again... I'd won a door prize! I said, "That's ok, I just got the best prize ever..." Everyone applauded and dabbed at their eyes when they saw my joy!

YES! I'm APPROVED!!!! This is really really really gonna happen for
me!!!

I'll call in tomorrow to set up my appt with the nutritionist so I can get started on the pre-op diet, get a date to meet the surgeon and set a surgery date! WHeeeeeeEEeeEEeEeeeee!

Thanks THINNER PALS for being here along side of me through this prep time... I'm excited beyond belief...

and a weee bit scared!!!!

Hehehee.... now that's a whopper whooo hooo!

My PCP injected my bad knee today and said, "go home and keep ice on it and elevated for 24 hours." I talked him into letting me go to the party, and I did take ice packs along and replaced them half way through... like a good girl!!! Yeah, I'll take the day off tomorrow : ) Like I could concentrate on work anyway....

I do feel like doing a jig... The rest of you who have been doing the "approveheralready" dance can stop now and rest... Thanks! It worked!!!!
