Default On to step two

Well I had my upper GI today. Boy do I just love that barium mmmmmmm.
Step 2 is blood work tomorrow, I hope all goes this fast and smooth. Has any one else been on medicaid when they had this?

I hear that they approve pretty quickly. I hope so. I just want to get this done!

My husband is on Medicare (disability) and they didn't even require pre-approval, thank God. All he had to do was have his pre-op labs and on to the slice 'n dice. From consult to surgery was 2 weeks. I think Medicaid is just as quick.

Thumbs up Insurance Pmpt.

Hi TabFox,

I am glad to hear that your husband will be able to have his WLS using Medicare for his insurance pmpt. What area of the country are you from? There may be people from your area who would like to know that Medi/Medi might be a possible pmpt. option for them.

Here in So. California, it is almost impossible to find a doctor who will accept Medicare as pmpt.

I attended a WLS support group the other night in La Jolla Ca. where a lady talked about how she used her life savings to pay for her surgery. She has Medicare as her insurance, but could not find a local doctor who would accept it as pmpt. She said that it was worth the expense of using her savings...she looks great, has lost over 100lbs & feels like a new person.

In a wealthy area like So. CA., where expenses and overhead, run extremely high, I understand why doctors would choose not to accept a lower paying insurance such as Medicare--- but for those of you who live in areas where it is accepted as pmpt...get the word out to your peers so they can become "losers" too.

Hugs,

Lei
