I hope that when you get there they put you through rigorous testing. I was so frusterated with all of the tests and hoops I had to jump through, but you know what? My doc knew me inside and out and was sooooo prepared to do the surgery on me. I had no post op complications save for the occasional dumping. If things are discovered pre-op (like sleep apnea, high BP, high cholesterol, diabetes) they can start to treat you prior to the surgery. JMHO, love. I trust you have researched this to death, and I know things work different in the states, so please excuse me if I am speaking out of my arse...but I care aboutcha

Hi V&V, are you going to Dr Dillemans? Check out Gwen's posts on this- it is quite detailed and will given you a helluva lot of information. I am suprized she hasn't picked up this post yet. She also has lots of links in her posts to a lot interesting threads....

Talking Been there, done that, got the Scar to show

Hi V&V

Dr D works in a very different way from how the US surgeons go about their pre and post opp procedures and I too was wondering before I went over.....

Perhaps you'll feel more at ease when you've read my Great Expectations (continued) thread?

It also answers all the questions you've posted in the Calling all Brugge Babes (Dr Dillemans' patients) thread

Let me know if you have any other questions

You must be getting really excited - I know I wished my life away in those last couple of days/weeks before the opp

Big Hugs - you'll be just fine - he's a little magician
