No one has heard from me in over six months because:

I was sent for all the pre-op tests....got those completed only to be told I had to go on a SIX MONTH program (this is where I went underground from depression) ....I know now that the program is normal since I didn't have six months of doctor supervised diets to prove I had tried to lose in the past but I was unprepared for that delay. Depressing. So now I completed the six month nutrition program, completed a few more lab tests (since by now the others were outdated), sent again to the shrink (as if I had gone crazy in six months...lol) I am going crazy with this liquid diet to lose 40 lbs (so far lost 28) before the surgery date which I will now find out ANY DAY! Everything was sent to the insurance company about two weeks ago so if what I hear is true I will finally be getting a surgery date ANY DAY! Did I say ANY DAY??????? Wow I can hardly wait.

Wow Mary, you've been through the mill for sure. Congratz on the 28 lbs. that's a great start. I hope you get your date real real soon.

That's terrific! I've been blue, too, because my insurance required a TWELVE MONTH plan. This seems to be taking forever! (I'm only in the fifth month of the plan -- I had hope that I would have had surgery by now!)

Hey Mary!
Long time no see! I'm glad to see you back on the board and that your date should be decided soon. I've been wondering where you've been and hoping that everything is okay. Glad to hear you've bested the depression demon once again.

Why don't you (or Karen) give us a call sometime soon? We have a support group every 3rd Tuesday at 6:30. I know it's a "pack a lunch" drive for you two, but we'd love to see you. Keep us in mind, and pm me if you need our phone number.

Thanks for the support......wow one year what a drag....makes me feel bad for bitching....Michigan is tough! Hang in there..time goes by quicker than we want...lol

Hi Mary,

I too am waiting for approval from insurance. I will call tomorrow to see as it has been 7 business days...they said I could call and check. Dr Callery's office has been great...but the "wait" is horrible. Best of luck to you!

All us'ens on the pre-op bench have to stick together and encourage each other on - cuz the waiting is hard!!!

In case you missed my new thread.....lol....I got the call today! Surgery date has been set for Monday Nov 26!!!

Hopefully...we can be "roomies". I called my insurance today...they said I should have the approval ppw tomorrow! I will be calling at 8:00 in the morning...to be sure it is faxed to me and Dr Callery. I would have the surgery done tomorrow if they let me!

Congrats again on your approval....best of luck....we will be seeing "less of you" soon!
