Don't worry...your bowel prep the day before will clean you out just fine. No colonic irrigation necessary.

Did you by chance see the program on discovery health on "The Spa of Embarrasing Illnesses"? OMG!!!! They did the coffee enema and such and had 2 weeks of detox...its amazing what came out of those people, even a week later. Makes me wonder about the colon....yuck.

And....I didn't have a bowel prep pre-op, am things worked out just fine with me!

I didn't have a bowel prep either.

Talking Welcome Honey!!!

Hi there V&V

Firstly - welcome to our wonderful family

No Dr D does not do the bowel prep and also do not require a liquid diet pre-opp if your BMI is not over 50 - he even tells you to go and enjoy your "last supper" the evening before the opp!!!!

So there you go - don't worry about all the toxins - they won't last long with your new pouch and all the water you have to drink post opp

If you have any other questions just shoot

Suppositories are NOTHING... I guess I would have to re-consider my conviction if I was willing to give up the surgery because of it. There will be MUCH harder things to endure than that...

As far as a pre-op cleansing.. I didnt have to do that.. had chinese the night before surgery with my docs blessing.
