Angry Need to vent

Ok so i recently learned my surgeons asst was going to be leaving for maternity leave soon. So i was all freaked out that my paperwork going to the insurance company would be all messed up, cuz her replacement may or may not know what they are doing. Well i called her (the replacement) yesterday. Come to find out it is my PCP i need to be worried about. He is sitting on my file. All my results are in, my blood work everything. All my PCP needs to do is fax everything to my surgeon. I called and left his asst a message yesterday, i called AGAIN today to see bucuz i have not heard from him yet. Well.... he was a bit peeved, with my impatience. He said my file was at the bottom of the stack, becuz they were swamped. So he was going to put it on the top of the pile. ALL HE HAS TO DO IS FAX THE CRAP TO THE THE SURGEON that's it. Big deal, why do they think they can just sit on your life? Like your so not important. My PCP is the one who was pushing sooo dang hard for me to do this for the last 2 years, what is he thinking.
I dont know what to do, I so bad wanted to get it during spring break. I guess i just need to get over it and realize i will get it when it happens, when everybody finds time to scheduele my life.
There is nothing i can do is there? Should i call the surgeon asst to see if she can call him and just get him to fax the stuff over? Do you think it would help?
Am i over reacting? Probably. I am just so impatient.

You can ask your doc to make you copies of everything, and you can take them to the other office yourself. I'm not sure how long they have to get you the copies, but my doc is awesome, and had them ready for me when I was there to see her. She is the one that suggested I take them myself. You have a right to everything in your file. If they have a copier in the office maybe you can make the fcopies yourself. Just a suggestion.

Your so funny. Ya know i just dont have the patience to knit. LOL.
You mean i have to wait 2 weeks? Why 2? You dont think it would help to have the surgeons nurse call my PCP?
I would call and get copies myself, but it takes 2 days just to get a call back period. uggg i will try very hard to be patient. I cant stand this about myself. It's annoying.
Thanks, For letting me vent. I will probably be here obsessing even more than usual.

Default Danette,

I had to do some leg work between my PCP and Dr. Callery's office because I'd call my PCP and he said, I faxed it. I'd call Dr. Callery's office and they said, we don't have it. I went to my PCP, stood in his office and waited to get the paper work copied for me to hand carry to Dr. C's office.

Best of luck!

Smile well

You could call and suggest that if they ake you copies you will do all the leg work yourself. that doesnt seem like an unreasonable task, you can even make up the excuse that you have heard about "other" peoples paperwork getting lost through fax transaction, and this way would be best. (Just make sure you keep copies for yourself.)

You dont have to wait 2 weeks, just a suggestion that perhaps by waiting that long you could call and it would be faxed and you would be on your way to loserville!

I suggest what Kim said..... gst copies and hand deliver. Good luck, let us know what happens!

Yeah you could ask them to make copies..... he can have an office assistant do that. Then take them over yourself. That's a great idea and a very diplomatic solution. If it was ME however.... and we all know how well I handle things like this *ahem* I would march my plus size ass down to my PCP's office first thing in the morning and stand at the counter smiling until the items were faxed. I'd be so pleasant and cheerful and suprisingly talkative for a woman standing on her sore for feet for a period of time they would want to help me find a way to leave their gray carpeted ,sweet smelling, magazine ridden office. But again... that's just me..... *ahem* And I'm sorry Bridge.... did you say knit????????? Gee for a hot girl you're a little odd aren't ya????

Love ya!

Default Hope

Well i called Sandy today at the surgeons office. She said she would have NO problem calling my PCP to see what she could do.
I told her my PCP was out on Fridays. Can you believe my PCP was sitting on my file for a whole week. Man that pis*ess me off. He was the one who's been so pushy for this. I think after surgery i will be switching PCP's.

Keep your fingers crossed for me, that she gets the information.
