Default Surgery date - April 18 - whoop-de-do

April 18 is way too long to wait!! I am excited. I am so confident in my decision to do this. I have had 50 years or more than my share of food and I am ready to get out of it and live my life!

Congrats on your date! It'll be here before you know it. By this time next year, you'll be coaching the newbies and pre-ops! You'll be saying "I lost 100+ lbs. and I would do it again". Just think, in a few months, you'll be shopping for smaller clothes. It's like being born again (in a non-religious sense) with all the new discoveries. It's a total rush the first time you see and feel your hip bones and ribs stick out, or cross your legs, or my personal fav....soaking in a bathtub and not having your butt touch both sides of the tub at the same time.

Congratulations on your surgery date! You mentioned being ready to live your life. While you're waiting for the surgery, which probably feels like a long, long time from now, start up some lists of goals.

Go out and buy an article of clothing that will reflect your external transformation. Look at setting goals for yourself within cetain timeperiods. For instance, I had mine last March and by Summer, I wanted to be down a 100 lbs. Then by Christmas, I wanted to be able to wear a 2X shirt. It all starts with tangible and reasonable goals.

My primary goal was to get rid of the co-morbidities. The last meeting we were at, it was mentioned that this isn't really weight loss surgery, it's co-morbidity loss surgery.

Best of luck and be sure to let us know if we can help ya out with anything!

Mike,

I just have to say you are an awesome man! You and Emmy are what I imagine a great relationship to be like.

I'm waiting patiently for April 8th to come around... 35 days, 10 hours and 43 minutes! hahaha, but I've been writing goals for weeks now... I'm just afraid I'm going to be the one person that loses 30 pounds and that's it... although at this point that would be great!!!

Meaghan,
You will be fine and you will lose more than 30 pounds! I thought the same thing. I thought I could never lose 100 pounds. It is just unimaginable.
