Default 3 more days

Wow - I can't believe it is almost here. My surgery is Monday and today is my last day at work. It seems so surreal..

I have really only had 1 day since my approval when I freaked out and became a basket case. Since then I just have this calm knowledge that this is the right thing for me. Everyone around me says that I AM feeling stress, I'm just not showing it. Kind of irritating (sp?) to have people tell me how *I* feel, but I think my calmness is actually disconcerting to them. Go Figure! The drama queen is mellow! hehehe

I wish I had a podmate, but no one else seems to have appeared! I'm going to keep busy with the Clothing Exchamge and household chores and I am sure it will fly by. I just needed to vent a little, I guess!

Thanks to everyone who has given me kind words, tough love and support through these last few months! You have made this journey inevitably easier!!

See you on the "other side"!

Emmy, I too was a total basket case up until the surgery was approved and scheduled. Then, all of sudden it all made sense. People thought I was nuts and in denial, but I was not. I was just totally at ease with Dr. C and his amazing capabilities. I have to say the hospital stay was THE BEST I have even had. I was well taken care of, even if things did not go perfectly (like it did) I knew I was in the best hands. Anxious...of course...but VERY READY. You will do just fine and we are thinking of you during your adventure. I too will be at the clothing exchange, see u there. Hang in there...soon you will be down a road nothing can prepar you for (or no one).

First of good luck. I am sure that everything will be fine. I hope that you will be able to make it to the support group meeting on the 9th. I know we would all love to see you.
Second I didn't have stress about the surgery until the night I had to go to the hospital, and then holly molly I was scared. I cried all night. I almost didn't go, but I am sure glad that I did. Everyone deals with things in there own way and time, so don't let those people get you down!

You may not know who your podmates are, but you will have some! Plus, I'll be there by your side through the whole thing, babe.

I'm so proud of you and I look forward to this new chapter in our lives together.

Wink See ya there!!

Emmy,

I cant believe that the time just flew by. You are going to be just fine and everyone here has prayers going up for you, and believe me it really gave me a sense of peace. I could not believe how calm i was through the whole procedure up to the time i was in the operating room, it was all just so surreal. I was laughing and joking with the nurses. The staff that is going to care for you is the "BEST", i could not believe how sweet and caring everyone was. I will go by and visit you on Tuesday evening after the early support meeting.

Here is a prayer going up from me

I am waiting for you here on the otherside.

Take Care

\I will try to stop by on Tuesday. I have been so busy and Stephanie is having her shoulder surgey on Monday also. So unless I have to go to LA I will be doing the hospital thing on Tuesday.
Best of Luck

Thanks Mary, Katy and everyone, yes, including you, hubby!

I guess I should mention that my legal name is Mary McLarty. If you ask for Emmy they are gonna go "Huh?" )

I would love to see you guys, but understand if things come up. Hell, it's going to be hard to look as good as Mary and Janice did when I saw them! They looked like they just got out of the day spa! heheh TTYL!
