Unhappy Discouraged

I have a 2nd meeting with my surgeon tomorrow. Well they just called
and told me that hes dropping my stupid hmo insurance because they dont like
to pay the doctors so the receptionist is going to see if she could find me
another surgeon in my area if not theys going to make a deal with the
insurance company so he can see me and do my surgery. I just found out its a
6 month wait i gotta do i guess that goes for everyone right???
Im alil upset by this lil discourage but I knew this was coming

Sorry I know it's discouraging but I think most of us had to wait at least a few months.

At least the doc is willing to take you if they can't find someone else for you that is a good thing. The 6 month diet is very common. After all my appeals and everything I had to go thru it was close to a year for me. Don't let it get you down. It's just a few little set backs. The 6 mon will be here and gone before you know it.

Kimberly,
It's ok to be upset about this. Go to your meeting, see what they are going to do for you, and if you don't like it, you can change surgeons. If it is just because they are cutting out your insurance, you should be able to 'carry over' your tests and stuff that you've been through, as long as they're still current. Sure, you may have to go through some more educational seminars 'n stuff, but to tell you the truth, many of us could have taught those seminars by the time we were ready for our surgery. More information is mostly a great thing. Keep a smile on your face and be ready for the hurdles, we've all had to go through them, and for most of us, it's truly been worth it all.

I'm with you sierrab! 3 years battling and no wls, did the 6 month diet and the exclusion on my old insurance still didnt cover it. I wish some people would come on here ranting about things like they couldn't get the surgery at all. That's a story, just ranting... :-)
