although I am quit a bit younger. My BMI was 54 and I had a 3 yr. old at the time. I not only did it for me but also my husband and daughter. This is your decision and only you can decide what is best for you. Good Luck and I hope you go through with it.

One of my very best friends is 59 and about to have GBS. She has a BMI of about 35, and Type 2 Diabetes. Last month she nearly had a stroke. Her doctors are pretty much insisting she have the surgery. She is nervous, but I doubt they would even suggest this option, or allow her to go through with it if they didn't think the alternative was more life threatening. I'm nervous for her, but allowing for the good Lord to handle this situation. Having faith in the doctors, surgeons, people in her circle of friends, and the good Lord above is all I have.....
