Education seminar Mar 8.
Hi all,
I have been scheduled for the March 8, education seminar, and have a weird question. Our bedroom is upstairs and I wondered after surgery if climbing stairs will be difficult. Anyone have an answer for me?

Stairs
Hi "Loser":
Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your decision to have surgery.
I live in a two-story home. After surgery, I was able to navigate the stairs pretty well. I had to go slowly, and going downstairs was worse than going upstairs. However, you can definitely do it post-op, with patience and going SLOWLY.
Please don't hesitate to ask questions when you need advice or information. Good luck with your journey.

Stairs
I live in an upstairs apartment. I had to go up and down them every time I went to walk. Going down was a little harder than up. The cool thing is once you start loosing weight it doens't take every thing you got to get your butt up the stairs. I can now run up and down them, and not feel like I am going to die from lack of oxgyen. IT'S GREAT!!

Loser,
I had no problem with stairs. You'll do fine.

Stairs and seminar
Thanks everyone for your welcome and support.
I went to a seminar for another surgeon but that doesn't count for Dr. Callery. So, I'll attend on the 8th and gear up for the big event. My husband declined to go to the first seminar I went to, but is going to this one.

Make sure your husband goes. Dr. Callery is very particular that spouses attend the seminars. Make sure you get there early as it gets filled up quick, many times standing room only. Also, you have to stay for the whole thing. My hubby and I had to attend his seminar twice because we left early the first time because he was in so much pain from standing for 3 hours. The office wouldn't schedule his consult until we sat through the whole kit and caboodle. We had to go through the seminar a third time when it was my turn for the surgery

Thanks!
I appreciate that info. I'll do my best to get there early, but I work in Mission Valley until 5 normally. I'll just try to leave work early that day.
I went looking for my medical group's consult auth last night and I can't find it. Time to really dig into the paper piles I guess. LOL
Maybe we'll bring folding chairs with us?

One thought...My fiancee had a hard time sleeping in a regular bed after surgery, even propped up by pillows. He is now sleeping in our recliner. Just keep it in mind in case you have trouble. He did okay going upstairs. Its been 10 days since surgery and he is doing great. Started at 366lbs and this morning weighed in at 343. Good luck!
