Default Before Photos...URGH!

Ok....surgery is Tuesday...gastric bypass with a gallbaldder removal...and last night I took my "before" photos...OMG!!! Do I really look like that???!!! How could I have done that to myself??? Have I been walking around and showing myself to the world that way....that is NOT me!!!! If I wasn't about to have this surgery and saw those photos I'd be in a great deep depression! Truly.

I want to feel "thin" for once in my life. I don't know how close I'll come. But I have always been fat...even as a small child. So I am not going to revert back to any old habits...this time I am going to do everything I am supposed to do...and when ready I am going to work out like a fiend. That is my declaration. Keep me honest.

Get your Gym Rat number from John and then we WILL hold you accountable! You're going to do just fine, you have the determination and will to do so. Just remember it's nearly impossible to fail these first 6 months, so use the time wisely! Make sure you are in support, or even therapy so you can get a handle on the WHY's... I have faith in you, you're going to do an awesome job.

I totally know what you are saying. I posted in my story back in Jan 06 after I took my before shots and cried. I couldn't believe that was me in the photos, but it was.

Its an amazing journey and in 6 months time you will look back at that photo and know how far you have come and never look back!

Take care on Tuesday and let us know how it all went.

You know we gym rats are always here to kick you in the butt! Working out has made so much difference to me - I can't begin to describe. I've been calmer, happier and just in such great shape. It feels good to be in my body now. And I still have quite a bit to lose, but man - it is a wonderful feeling.

When you're all healed up just go to the exercise section and ask if you need any help. We'll be there!

Thanks for those reponses guys. I really appreciate it...they made me tear up. The only friend I have told on this is supportive...but she's never been fat, so she has no clue how this all feels.
I do have a support group I can go to. I've been once and will go after surgery...but I have to say, this forum is a GREAT support!

Your going to do wonderful. You already have the right mind set!! Changing your life is a HUGE thing, but I have faith you will do it, and be successful! Take it one day at a time...then it won't look like such a HUGE hurtle! Best of luck on your Surgery!!!

Default hey.......

I was thinking of you today when I saw your post. I'm very excited for you! I know how you feel about the before pictures. I almost died when I saw mine. Ugh!

You're never gonna look like that again. Think of this as your re-birth into a new, improved you. Not only will you look better and feel better, you'll be able to do more with you kids too.

I'm sure you'll do fine. The first week is the hardest but it passes quickly and the soreness goes away fairly fast. Just get walking, resting and sipping water into your daily routine. Let yourself be pampered by your Mother-in-Law.

You have my number. Call me if you need anything. Good luck and God Bless.
