Default pre-op tomorrow

Tomorrow is my pre-op appt. and I am having second thoughts. I know it is just nerves and anxiety, can't imagine what I will be like the day of my surgery. What all did y'all have done on your pre-op appointments?

At my pre-op appointment, they went through everything that would happen on the day of surgery, then they sat with my husband and me and let us ask every question that was running through our minds. It was one of the most amazing appointments I've had with a doctor, because they really took the time to explain and answer every little thing.

Thanks Lynda! The pre-op was okay. I hate going over all the "bad" things that can happen. It went well and I am on my way. Thanks for responding.

Hi reagan,
When is your surgery?
I had my pre-op yesterday as well. All me tests were done then....were yours?
I had a urine test, an ultrasound of my entire insides..gallbladder, etc., then I had to drink that barium drink (horrendously awful) and had an upper GI, then I had an EKG and a bunch of blood drawn for tests. Then met with the surgical coordinator and she went over all the pre-op instructions and post op diet.

We're on our way....

My surgery is July 31. I had all my stuff done today too although it sounds like yours was a little more extensive. I had mucho blood drawn, EKG, and chest x-ray. That's it. I met with the surgical coordinator also and went over all the stuff for day of surgery. I am so not looking forward to that bowel prep. Ugh! When is your surgery? Goodluck!

Mine is August 14th...I know its all scary...
I had a c-section with my son 4 years ago...so I know how it feels with the cathitor Sp? and IV and frequent checks, and belly pain...but its over relatively quickly and its just a "Blip" on your history...but the results will bring a lifetime of good things (like my c-section did).
Lets keep in touch...you'll only be 2 weeks ahead of me. You can PM and tell me how it went...and give me any advice you can think of....I think we'll both need the support.

Good Luck...you'll be in my thoughts.
