Well, I had my pre-op yesterday. I must say that had to have been one of the longest days of my life! We left the house at 6am and didn't get home until 7:30pm! There was another group consult to go over all of the questions anyone would have plus a lot of new info. I really like the idea of having the G tube in for the first 6 weeks. If I am unable to tolerate eating anything, just pour it right in! I finally met the Nut yesterday and she was very enlightening. The only problem was they had the thermostat set on "OMG, its too dang cold"! My husband and I wore shorts and were so miserable...and then on to the hospital for pre-admitting. We live in Florida in August and we rode the whole 2.5 hours home yesterday with the HEATER on, just to get the chill out of us. I have to say something about the Ocala Regional Hopital. That was the most friendliest place I have ever been in my life. They have the Bariatric unit on the 4th floor, but you can say that the whole hospital is Bariatric. I know this may sound corny, but it was like walking into a room of "Rainbows and Sunshine"! HAHA. We had to go through all sorts of testing. They had a really hard time getting blood from me after being on the liquid diet and then sitting through 5 hours in the "ARTIC ZONE". And every office or location that you went, you saw some form of literature on Obesity Sensitivity Training. All I can say is that I was simply amazed with the whole setting there! I am still amazed at how everything went yesterday. Thanks, I just wanted to share this since most have horrifying stories of the hospitals. Have a great day!
