YAHOO!!!

I am finally home after 3 days. I had surgey on Wednesday by Dr. Potts. Everything went very well. I was nausiated and in pain when I first woke up but they got that under control. I am tolerating all of my liquids.

Thank you Karen and Brigittgirl for visiting!

Default I too made it to the other side...

Hello all. Here it is Sunday evening and I am home. Been here since Friday night, but this is the first time I've been able to write. Everything went well with surgery with Dr. Callery. I was most apprehensive about going into the OR, but Dr. Zinzer (the anesthesiologist) made sure I didn't remember a thing.
So when I got to the recovery room and even into the ICU I couldn't wake up! My blood pressure shot up and I was put on IV meds to regualte it. I had two IV's and they had to move it once cause it hurt. Am I a sissy or what?? LOL I was using the morphine pump on Wednesday night, but haven't had any since. I guess that's good.
I am so not hungry, and it's SOOOOO weird!!! I have to force myself to drink my fluids. I HATE the smell of plain old chicken broth...makes me wanna puke.
Ok, enough complaining...good luck for all who have had surgery recently and I will write more later.

Default Welcome to the other side!

Brenda and Marisa, and all others who have just had your surgery.
Congratulations, I am so happy that you have come through your surgeries healthy. The first week, is the hardest followed by the first two months. This is the time when eating is the hardest, you are weak and tired and getting your protein, water and vitamins is a struggle. Exercise is a challenge because your tired. Keep telling yourself that it gets better.
Each week will be better and by the end of the two months your routine will be feeling normal to you.

Please realise that depression after surgery is normal. If you can get out of the house and walk a little, even 10 minutes, it helps. Sleep when your tired but get fresh air when you can. Call your WLS buddies and go to your support groups.

Sip...Walk...Sip...Nap...Sip...Walk...Sip....Nap

Mary

Default Mary...

Thanks a million for the words of advice. I will do my best to walk as often as possible. Hopefully Dr. C will let me go back to work soon. I think the whole place will be under papers soon...LOL
