Default Resolved...sorta

In my other post, "B*tchy", I complained about the cost of unexpected requirements from my GB doctors office.

This morning I paid an unexpected visit to my doctors office. Basically told them that I would not be paying for the food and would follow the original pre/post op diet given to me in May at the orientation...which is also stated on their website.

I did not see Dr. Quebbemann, but his associate, Dr. Braverman who is patient and understands my concerns. He did agree that the internist I saw yesterday was way out of line for threating to pull surgery if I didn't purchase the food and that it was unethical and planned on speaking to her about this. Hello! She needs to be fired!

He said that since I was NOT told of the change BEFORE my appointment yesterday, he would let me follow the original pre/post diet. (victory!) And nothing would interfere with the upcoming surgery date. He also said he will be my primary surgeon (yippee!) and any concerns to be directed to him immediately.

About the aftercare....that's been reduced because I won't get much out of the support groups since I can't hear well. That's why I love TTF! I'll be charged for 1 week post-op, 1,3,6,9 month and 1 year follow up visits. Way cheaper than $3500.!

Also won an appeal with Blue Shield PPO today. They hadn't covered a couple of my pre-op tests and I appealed their decision.

So for a Friday the 13th it was a good day. NOW I can concentrate on getting ready for surgery in 20 days!

Thank you all for your support and letting me rant. Love you all!

Teri

Teri, you have to pay for support group???? Why??? I thought that was a free thing...never thought someone would charge for it! Well, I'm happy you made some headway with the other things and you are feeling alot better tonight. I'm happy you went to the office today.

Teri,
I am so proud of you for being pro-active with this. I don't understand why you have to pay for follow up visits and support groups, shouldn't they be covered by a copay?

I'm proud of you too. You did a good job of dealing with it and I'm glad it paid off.
