Default I have been so good on my pre op diet...

I am on a two week pre-op diet, with surgery on Monday, july 2nd. The first three days I had heard were the worst. That did prove to be true for me as well. It really wasn't as bad as I had thought.

I am going out for supper tonight with my mom, just kind of for some socialization in a restaurant which so was a part of my life. I am going to a place that I can order salad and raw vegetables ONLY. I won't be going off my diet, just want to eat somewhere else.

I do think I will order a diet coke, however. I know I don't need it; have been doing fine without it for a very long time already. I also know it will be a LONG time before I can have one, maybe never. That will be my send off to myself for surgery.

I am nervous about the surgery, but I think I can handle the diet part of this. I do so much appreciate all the support that is here on this message board.

i'm glad you've done well with your preop diet Lori. I hope that makes things easier for you in recovery and adjusting to your new pouch. Is there someone around here you will call to let us know how you are doing? Best wishes Monday!

Lori!
You're doing GREAT! I love your attitude...you are sooooo ready, girlfriend!
You'll still be able to go to restaurants...just get used to the idea that you'll be sharing, or throwing away! When you realize, as you have, that dining otut is more about the socialization, you can relax and enjoy it even more!
btw, it's nice to 'see' you!

Default Good luck

Good luck on your surgery, Lori. I can't wait to hear how it all went. I'm still doing testing and getting insurance approval, so I'm living vicariously through others who are further along in the process. I'll be thinking of you on Monday.

Default Good for you!

The kind of determination it takes to stick to the two week pre-op diet is the exact thing you will need to be super-successful afterwards. You have it in the bag girlfriend!!

Plenty of room on the bench here - we'll keep it warm for you!

Thank you all so much for the kind words. LOL about "seeing" me. I finally decided it was time to put my mug out there. If I can get in touch with Ronette soon enough (nothing like waiting until the night before), I will ask her to update. If not, I will as soon as I can.
