Default Im Home!!

So Had my surgery on Thursday (12:15) and was released this morning around 10am. Overall i feel purdy good just have that uncomfortable feeling in my stomach. I also didnt sleep at all last nigth. No matter what position I would put my self my back hurted.

Im going to continue on this liquid diet for the rest of the week and see how it goes. I been reading and noticing that some of you were already eating soft foods like yogurts and oatmeal after the first day. Is that safe?

Any tips would really help right about now.

I also started feeling a sharp pain on my side. Kinda like the one you get when you drink alot of water and start running. Any ideas??

Greg

Welcome home, glad to hear everything went well for you. I had surgery on Monday and on Wednesday they gave me cream of wheat, oj, and milk to eat for breakfast at the hospital. i have been eating/drinking yogurt and sf pudding, popsicles. I guess it is whatever kinda diet the dr put you and what your pouch can handle.

Best of luck.

Default Welcome home...

And now you can post over in the post-op section... Every doctor has differing directives. Whatever they wanted you on is what you should be doing. If they didn't give you a diet, then call them up and ask them! They should have given you information on what you can and can't eat at different stages.

Hi Greg, you share the same birthday with me! I had my surgery on June 7th last year, so we are podmates in a way. It's nice to see things went well and you are home. About the diet, I'm with Lisa on this. Your doc should have educated you on what to eat at what stages. For me, I was on clear liquids for a week and then I moved to full liquids for two weeks, then moved to soft foods such as cream of wheat, pureed oatmeal, cream of chicken or mushroom soup, etc. Give your new pouch time to heal. Don't push it. When I was in your stage, I was only taking in 2 medicine cups full of watered down juice three times a day. Keep us posted!
