OKAY. I just watched a video of a laparoscopic Roux-En-Y....

I have four words.

It is good to educate your self about what you are about to walk into though. But we all know that being MO hurts too. You'll be fine.

Didya see the part where they put the gas mask over his face and said breathe deep?????

Afterwards you do hurt, but they put this IV in your arm and they give you nice drugs in it for a day or so. Then they pull you out of bed (take a hit off the morphine pump first) and make you walk. Then they send you home w/ tylenol with codine. Yes it hurts, but not as bad as you think. I would recommend if you are a tummy sleeper not to do it soon post op...speaking from personal experience.

The pain goes from feelings of hot knives to hot pins to sore muscle pain. It is tolerable. You can do this.

Do you have kids??? Labor and Delivery was worse. At least with GBS they only want to see your boo boos on the tummy not check those areas. Except when removing a cathater.

No, I have no children... hopefully one day. I'm gonna be a post-op pregnancy case. :P

But I'm sure in both cases (with this surgery, and having children) the pain will most definitely be worth it!

But still.... YOWZA!

Yes when they are first born and sweet and innocent looking swaddled in a recieving blanket smelling of baby lotion they are worth it. Four years later when they are acting like spawn of satan in the store....you begin to wonder lol. I wonder what the teen years will be like?

I want to see the video where did you see it..... I don't think I would have wanted to see it pre-op but I want to now!

I like you had never had anything done I was fine. You do wake up in pain but it is not that bad. You will be just fine! You will sleep so much at first you won't even know you are hurting.
