Sweetie, it's good to understand what your body goes through with this procedure. Truthfully, I'm amazed that it wasn't more painful. I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

Here's the link to the video list:
http://www.websurg.com/ref/Laparosco...d01en1343e.htm
You have to register with the site to be able to view them, but it's free and the registration seems pretty harmless (i.e. I haven't gotten any email from them other than an activation link).
There's like 10 videos of laparoscopic gastric bypass surgeries.

Just be aware - everyone does not experience pain after surgery.
I felt like there was a tight band around my abdomen .. but that wasn't actually painful. What's difficult is getting up and out of bed. This is because your ab muscles are weakened.
Within 4 days I was able to get up and back in bed easily .. and that was it.
Of course, I was still in recovery which meant that I got tired a lot so I needed a daily midday nap ... but bit by bit your get over even that.
So don't think of the worse case scenario.
And don't watch that film! It's just gonna freak you out!

I want to see an open case. I had open and my sister sees them all of the time...she is in the OR..anyway, she explained what they do and it grossed me out. Then, when I had the multiple hernia repairs and TT's, she went into graphic detail again.... I like watching this stuff on TV..it is really cool.

Imo
Drinking and eating three weeks out is much harder than any pain I suffered. And I also had a huge esophageal hernia repaired. Like others said it's pretty much sore Muscles with a LAP.

never say screwed up lol
first throw the video away. second, there isnt a one of use that have had this done that wasn't just a tiny bit scared before the surgery, god will not take you to a point with out helping you through it. The end result is worth twice the pain and 6 times the wait. If someone asked me 3 weeks after my surgery would i do it again? I would have said NO NO NO no!!!!!!!!! bUT, THE FIRST TIME YOUR PANTS FALL DOWN BECAUSE THEY ARE TWO BIG, or the first time someone doesnt know whom you are till you speak, and when the doctor says you dont have to take your dieabetic meds anymore, you will forget all the pain and live in the moment, trust me, been there, done that , got the tshirt and wore the tshirt out, hang in there clint (ex santaclaus)

I am back
Yes I snuck in here a few weeks ago to give the next update, i went to the plastic surgeons and ws approved the first day by him. Now the insurance wait. We knowo how that goes so we will just sit back and loose some moore weight. I am only32 lbsawa from m goal and want to be down as far as i can before the tummy tuck, well in this case a tummy reconstuct or remodel. Things are still doing real goo. I still cant eat meat most of the time (weird but I can wear chicken nuggets) but not chicken with out coatings. I still like yougert but am totally worn out on jello and pudding(fat free). I am eating more normal but still take food home from the restraunts. iam so glad that the journey is almost over.I know the journey never ends and now my job is to keep the weight off, i am walking about 30 miles a week and ride my bike 7 or 8 miles a week, and I do a lot of upper body weight training. Only problem is i cant ge the weights trained to d their own excersises without me. lol. an way nce to hear from you, till later clint cj ex santa
