Default Surgery not til october now

Due to an unfortunate circumstance of a hernia being in carcerated I will not be able to have Gastric bypass until october. They had to repair the hernia first. The hernia reapir operation was Friday April 20. I came out okay after quite a reaction from one of the drugs they gave me during surgery. The reaction was so bad that it caused sugar to go up, shortness of breathe weakened heart rythm and a one night stay on the I.C.U unit. So, know I also have to endure allergy testing. Lucky me!!! I guess its better to find out know rather then when I am under again.

Because the hernia repair was open so Will my Gastric bypass surgery. They have to wait 6 months before they can do another open wound surgery. So, those of you that pray keep me in your prayers.

First of all I am so sorry you had those reactions during your surgery. I am so glad your feeling better! I know it stinks to have to wait until October but I am sure logically you know it's best. to bad we can't teach our heart logic. I will keep you in my prayers as you count down!

Thanking God that everything went ok. It is better to be safe. October will be here in no time. I am saving a spot for you on the loser bench.

Sorry about the setback. Even when we know it is for the best it doesn't make waiting any easier. Looking forward to October now.

Thanks for all the support. Yes, Logically waiting until October is the best thing to do. I go May 10, for my allergy test. They are going to pump full of Antibiotics to see which ones I have a reaction to. We live in a small town so I drive three hours one way to get the test done. I guess whatever it was caused me to go into anapheligic shock.

I know that there is no laughing matter here but a short funny story. The surgeon that is going to perform my Bypass was out of town, So, naturally a different surgeon did the surgery. Not only a different surgeon but a different hospital anyway, I go see my Gastric Bypass surgeon and he says " I hear you had quite an experiance in surgery the other day." " yeah, if thats what you want to call it." was my reply. He proceeded with comment " i am glad it happen to him and not me." Your gonna find out what caused the reaction Right? " I said, " No, I thought I would leave that to you." Of course I was kidding. So, anyway he deciced to keep on a patient and continue getting everything ready.

Its so upsetting because I was scheduled to have the surgery in June and That is so close. But on the other hand I am glad that we found out I have allergies so I could get it straightened around before Gastric Bypass. The lord knows best.

Once again Thanks for the support.

One of the allergies I had in the operating room was to Latex. So, know we go through the allergy testing for the antibiotics and then they are going to order me a medical alert breacelet to wear.
