Just around the cornor
OK ..well my week is finally here...I am having surgery in Thursday morning...so basically in 3 days...for some reason it just doesn't seem real...like something is gonna happen and it will get postponed or something...I am sure that will not happen, but I have a heard time getting myself to believe I am actually having surgery in just a few days!!! Also i have been on this liquid pre-op diet and have only lost 6 lbs...I have been on this diet for 11 days (including today)...I feel like i should have lost more by now...hmmm maybe not, I guess he didn;t tell me how much I should expect to lose...

Scootching over... making room...
So looking forward to holding out a hand once you're post-op, helping you through all the bits and bobs that make up this stuff. Just a little pre-warning, dear heart: - You will NOT be the only one the surgery doesn't work for--when you stop losing or even gain a pound back at your three- to six-week mark, remember this...
- You may not be able to drink water, and may hate the taste of most other liquids... you just have to keep trying to find something that you WILL drink, so you can stay hydrated. Dehydration is our biggest early danger.
- Try really, really hard to only weigh yourself once a week, at most, if you can. My scale drove me batty the first six months...
- And remember we're waiting anxiously to find out how you are. Do you have a forum buddy that can call and check on you? If not, feel free to PM me a phone number where I can get in touch with someone who knows what your status is, or I'll be happy to PM you mine...

Amanda key point is you are losing. That is the important part that you stick to your liquid diet and still lose up to your re-birthday. Amanda I felt the same way to the a couple of days before my surgery date. That is a normal feeling. I am rooting for you. See you on the losing side soon.

I was exactly like you. Worrying that something would happen to prevent it. I told my wife that I would relax and accept that I was having it when I was on the bed being wheeled into the OR. Good luck and make sure to update us when you feel ok.

Amanda, I can only imagine what you are going through right now. Hang in there, just a couple more days and your "rebirth" begins.

Thanks for all the well wishes!! For some reason I am still not "scared" ?? Is this weird?? I feel like i should be more scared...i still kind of don't feel like its real...Like i dont want to get my hopes up JUST in case there is any reason the surgery doesn't happen as planned..i mean everything is good on my side..but u never know what could come up i guess...I guess this way if i don;t get my hopes up...i can be super excited the morning of that it is really happening! Or maybe just extra scared that day haha..well i have now lost 10 lbs in 12 days on this pre-op diet!!
