Default Insurance Questions - Aetna PPO

I have not made any steps towards contacting my insurance about GBS. Is there any do's and dont's? We have Aetna PPO and I believe that they do cover the surgery. I understand it may be a long road but I just want to get it started. Any advice is much appreciated!

A year ago I was going to do a band out of my own pocket. I went pretty far with it, pschy. eval, nutrition plan, etc., but I decided I didnt want to take on that much debt. The initial visits set me back a couple of thousand as it is.

Welcome to the board Boosted.. I, too, am at the beginning of my journey. We have 2 insurance companies where I work.. BCBS and Aetna. The Aetna is the free insurance, but I do not have that one. I do know that there was a girl in our sister plant that has Aetna, and she had the surgery, so its possible.. I know not a huge help.. The best thing is to find out through your particular insurance company. Someone else on here had BCBS, and when I compared the two plans, the differences were HUGE.. so its all about what your company provides.

I am sure they offer "Something".. but the specifics.. only they know! Keep us posted on your journey! This board is a GREAT resource!
