Hey guys, I'm new to this but I thought I'll give it a try. I just started my GPS journey on 5/11. At the meeting we were told that we needed to be on a six month medically supervised diet. I have been working with a personal trainer/nutritionist. Does anyone know if that will be sufficient??? I have Pacificare/Sharp Community, I didn't have a problem getting approved for my consult. I hope that everything works out! 5/17 I had my consult w/ Dr. Potts...loved him I should say. I have all my labs & tests done, just waiting for the results. I hope I didn't come this far only to be let down. Wish me luck!

Dear Angela I have Sharp insurance and once I got the consult the rest was a breeze. I'm not sure what the Pacific Care part will make you do since I don't have that part, Good Luck to you. Lorrain

Angela,
I too have Pacificare/Sharp Community. My problem was getting the approval for the consult but did not have any trouble getting the surgery approved. It did take over 3 weeks for the approval after dictation and I was afraid they were going to deny me. They approved it and I had my surgery in less than two weeks after the surgery approval.
Waiting is the worst....Good Luck.
