Talking Still feeling a little crazy but now I have support

Hi all you wonderful losers. Thanks to all of you who responded to my post the other day when I was sure I was losing it. It helps so much to know others understand how I feel. My surgery is coming up in 1/16 and I just hope I can be as patient as possible. Thanks for alll your hints on how to get thru some of the pre-op crazies. So many questions. If any of you wouln/t mind I would love to exchange phone numbers. I would love to meet all you North County folks. Just let me know how and when. I have gotten so much from this forum and someday hope I have something to give back. I kapppreciate your prayers and support and believe me, I will do likewise. I have a question: Did any of you go on a liquid protein diet a couple of weeks before surgery? I have been doing that but it brings up so many cravings. I feel like I just want to go out and try a few things I never let myself eat but I am so paranoid because you can't gain any weight before surgery. Have my pre-op appt. with Dr. Callery on 1/11. What usually happens then? Anything I should be doing to prepare for surgery other than is in the booklet I would love to hear from anyone who has the time to write. It really helps and feels so good. I get so angry when I hear people who think I am taking the easy way out of losing weight. Don't they know we have tried everything and there is nothing "easy" about this surgery? Well thanks for listening to me again.

Jess,
At your Pre-op with Dr C and Kelly, they will explain everything to you. They took a lot of time with my hubby and me to make sure our every questioin was answered, though like you, I'd done a lot of reading, so I didn't have a ton of questions. Of course, they weigh you, take waist and hip measurements...If you want to try a few things, just be careful not to gain weight...and being a North County girl, you'll definitely want to join the group at Rains house for support group on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. It's an awesome group, love every one of them. You will be welcomed with open arms. Rain is a wonderful hostess, and it is fun AND supportive! It's not long now! Hey, maybe next Tuesday, you can come to the meeting...it'll distract you from the wait--and you'll have all sorts of new buddies who've been thru it!

That's what this support group is here for. Some of us don't have a lot of experience yet as we are still waiting for our turn as well, but that doesn't mean that we can't listen and offer words of encouragement. Know that our thoughts are with you at this time as you undergo this life changing procedure. You are thought of.
