Smile Worried about a let down

My surgery is monday and I am excited!!!!! I am also worried that something will go wrong and my Dr. office will say ooops sorry we need to reschedule you. I have told my work I will be gone, made arrangements for my short people(my kids) and the hardest thing..... the liquid diet. I am so ready for this. I went to the mall a few weekends ago and looked at all the stores I yes I will be able to shop in. My husband and I took a trip to the bay area last weekend and walked around all the shop in San Francisco and I got so excited at the thought of being able to fit those cute clothes. We are from the bay area originally so I told my husband in 1 year I want to fly back and do some real damage!!!!

I have been heavy since my last 3 kids ( I have a total of 5) so it will be fun to be able to move around with them and not feel run down.

I weight 287 my goal weight is 140. I fell like that will take forever to lose, I feel like what if I am the person it does not work on? I am just rambling now so I better go. Thanks for listening.

Default No negative talk!

You'll do marvelous! You too can lose weight. The biggest part is the head games. You are willing to become a healthy eater right?

I can't beleive people look at me and think she sure eats right. But now, they do.

I was close to your weight at surgery....and look at my weight now....pretty darn close to where you want to be. How tall are you? You can do this challenge yourself as soon as you can to exercise ..then kick it up a notch when you are able to recover from your workout easily. You'll do great!

If you correctly use the "tool" your surgeon is about to give you, you will be amazed at the speed of your weight loss and the extent of your transformation. Just follow the doc's rules, stay positive, and you will do just fine.

Good luck to you.

Smile Thank You All

I thank you for all the kind encouraging words. I am so ready for this. I gave up my soda and my coffee! I started eating 5 times a day all with a protein. I drink about 8 glasses of water a day and I have cut out all junk food. I understand this is a life style change and I am ok with that. I walk 5 times a week and will joing the exercise section of my daughters gymnastics class. Well not their class but they have workout equipment that the parents can use while the kids have classes. So once a week for a hour and a half I can use some machines and the weights. Beth had asked how tall I am. I am 5'7. I hope I do get down to your weight. Vanessa you are right I am going to shop till I drop. I told my husband get ready for the earthquake because with all the bags I will have and the damage to the checking account he will think one just hit. Quick question for you all, how long after your surgery did you start to exercise? How fast did you start to see the weight come off? Mila I will take your advise and follow the doc's orders to a T. Thank you guys for listening and the support. I think everyone else is tired of me yapping about what I will do, what I will eat, what I hope to look and feel like. Oh well I am happy so in this case that what is important right.

Welcome to the forum!! Sounds like you are well on your way and will be joining the rest of us losers on the bench.

I started 'walking' on the treadmill and around the house as soon as I was home from the hospital. I didn't 'kick it up' until about a week later. Your body will dictate how much you do and how soon. I was on lift restrictions for 6 weeks, (nothing over 10#'s), and after that, it was anything goes. I didn't add exercise other than walking into my routine until the 6wk. mark. I know a lot of people use aqua classes as an alternative to walking/jogging. You will find what works for you. I need variation or I get bored and won't do it. Exercise is like a really bad Cuss word to me....It took quite a while to get past that mentality. Best Wishes!!

Default Exercise

Thanks for the tips on exercise, It should be intresting not lifting anything over 10pounds. My son is 2 and is 40 pounds. I normally tke him to the grocery store with me which means lifting him in the cart. But the real challenge will be putting him in his crib. My husband can help of course but I like putting my little guy to bed. It's not that I do not understand it will just be hard. Sometimes my husband may not be home and I am worried about what I will do.

You may want to consider a toddler bed - or converting the crib if it converts - my youngest was 2.5 (but she's still 28 pounds at 3) and I did that before my surgery. I could hold her when sitting, but no carrying for 6 weeks . . . that was tough!! She did kiss my boo boo a lot!!!
