That is so exciting...from what I remember it did not take long for your insur to respond. I am so happy for you...Merry X-Mas to you...how do you feel about that, so close to x-mas and all? I told my family if things went really fast and he wanted to do surgery on X-Mas. LOL. Very far fetched, and like anyone would want to do anything on X-Mas, but that is just how excited I am.

I will attending the support classes on 12/8 & 1/6, will I be able to meet anyone in this forum there?

Talking

Thanks so much for you encouragement Kelly. It was weird the day Rose called me. My husband and I were at lunch talking and he asked me if they called and wanted me to have the surgery before Christmas did I want to do that. I told him that if it was ok with him I thought it would be a great christmas presents. He agreed. So not even a 15 minutes later Rose called and told me Dr. Potts wanted to do my surgery on Dec 20th. Potts told me in my initial consaltation that he may want me to stay in the hospital for 5 days because he is going to have to reverse my Gerd surgery and then do the bypass and he has never done this before. So I may still be in the hospital on chirstmas eve. Christmas eve is when my family celebrates chirstmas with each other. So far my 23 year old son said that if I could not come to my moms house then he would convince them to come to me. I told him that if that happens to please eat first cuz I won't be eating with them. So I am kind of sad about the Christmas Eve thing. But the surgery will give me a life time of rewards and I and my family are willing to sacrafise one day.

Only 23 days to go until surgery date

Barbara,
What a neat Christmas present!! I wouldn't have it any other way if it was me. You will be fine and your family will come and see you and your family here will be thinking of you. Good luck and best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Thanks Dale,

It will be wonderful christmas. Besides it not like it's my birthday were celebrating.... All though I enjoy christmas very much we will just have to do it differnt this year.

I am gratful that my husbands company christmas party is the night before the surgery. I don't know if I will have to at the hospital at midnight the night before or not. But I know that I will be on private Yatch crusing around looking at christmas light all dressed up the night before the op.

Today I went shopping for the perfect outfit for the cruise. It brought a whole new meaning to the statement "Well I'm only going to wear this once."

Barbara,
You WILL only wear that outfit once and it will be a very special outfit. Make sure to get a fulll body picture of you in that outfit to compare yourself to in the future. I am keeping the outfit (clothes) that I wore to the hospital and they are already so baggy. When I feel down, I go look at those clothes in my closet and it brings me much joy and excitement. It reminds me of where I came from. You are at the same weight where I started my journey except I am a little shorter than you 5'2". I hope all goes well with the X-mas party. Enjoy yourself as you approach the losing side. Take care.
