Talking Made my Goal weight early

I need to lose another 7.5 pounds two weeks ago and I lost 10 pounds. I decied to see where I was before my real weight check 10/23 but weighed in this morning to get a reference for the weekend to lose the extra pounds and to my surprised I am under my goal weight. People thought it was strange because I weighed in with my bathsuit and flip flops. No extra weight.

I immediately did my EKG and I will meet the case mgr 10/25 to do blood work and get a surgey date. I am so proud of myself and all the support from the website.

Additionally, my husband has now jumped aboard and he is being supportive and working out with me in the gym.

My sister said I almost jumped over the rail from joy besides crying for a minute. I can't believe I am almost there.. Here I come loser

Okay, if I'm reading this right you had a goal weight to attain BEFORE you have the surgery? First of all, congrats. Second, is this something the surgeon required of you or something you required of yourself?

The program requires the 10% weight lost and the surgeon sets the weight. I pushed myself because I do not want to be in a situtation where I weigh in and I need to lose 1 pound. I saw a lady cry because they would not let her slide. I want this surgey so bad I can taste it.. I am not going to let a freakin candy bar, my husband or my job keep me from the operation table on Nov 14. Girl , the program is so serious here they will not let you weigh without shoes. That is ridiculious. So I go weigh in each and every visit in a bathsuit and flip flops. They claim clothes do not make that big of a difference. Bull----! I weighed my clothes and they add 1 to 3 pounds. I do not have time for that crap. I am sorry for the long respond but reaching and staying under that 250 pounds is a most for me. I do not want no issues with the weight.

Thanks for the answers--is that a common thing from different doctors or just in the program where you are? I wonder if it's to see how compliant you'll be after the surgery.

Nov 14 is coming up quickly--best of luck! If I do this I'll probably start the ball rolling shortly after the first of the year--but will wait until school is out for the surgery (I'm a teacher and that would be the best time of year for me since I wouldn't be able to take that much time off during the year).

I am a teacher too and I am not putting my self off for nothing. Each doctor has their only requirements. You need to check with your insurance and doctor to see what is required. You might need to start the paper work now so you can have the surgey this summer. Do not let work be the reason to wait. You waited long enough.

I have 17 days to go and I am so excited. A new life or rebirth as they say on thinnertimes.

The reason I'm waiting until after the first of the year is that I'm changing insurance companies effective Jan 1. I know my current one (state of Oklahoma employees and teachers insurance) will not pay for WLS--I'm hoping my new one (an HMO) will. Otherwise I'd be signing up for the required seminar now. I suppose I could go ahead and call for the January seminar. . .
