Default Confession!!!!

Ok.....I have a confession to make....and I feel terrible about it already, but feel free to give me hell as well! I am on day#11 of the 14 day liquid diet. I went crazy! I saw the surgeon for my last visit before surgery...knowing I won't have to weigh in again, I went and got a big fat sandwich and chips for lunch!!!! I feel so gross! I work for a group of doctors...so I know that this sandwich won't be the end of me...but still, I feel very guilty!!! So, I am back to the "plan" for the next 3 days...and hope the bowel prep will wash away that guilt! lol! I asked one of my docs about it and he assures me that any trace of the sandwich and chips will be gone by Monday! He also assures me that my liver will not enlarge between now and Monday. Still, I feel terrible! I know it was wrong...but can't take it back! Just had to confess to my pals! I hope I'm not the 1st one to go off the deep end!

Don't be so hard on yourself you are only Human!!!!!!!!!! I am hoping when I get close to my surgery date I won't have to do the 2 week liquid diet!! Because I am thinking I will probably mess up too. But good luck on Monday can't wait to hear how you did, and the advise you will give!

Why do you feel guilty? Were you hungry when you ate it?

Yes, I was very hungry when I ate it. I guess I just don't want to do anything to mess this surgery up! They are so strict about the 2 wk diet, just shakes, and we are supposed to eat NOTHING that's not on the list! Chips and sandwich are not on the list! lol! Just a few veggies are! I'm sure if I follow the liquid diet the next 3 days, I'll be ok. I just feel bad for not being able to stick to the plan!!! On the upside, I've lost 13 pounds since my consult! I just worry that somehow when he gets in there he'll see that I didn't follow the diet and he'll not do the surgery! I guess I'm weird, paranoid, anxious, all of the above.....It's just I've wanted this for so long, and really feel disappointed in myself for giving in to temptation. My co-worker, who had the surgery in May, said she went to the buffet on Saturday, ate herself silly, then did the prep Sunday, and had her surgery Monday with no problems. I guess I just need to relax!! Perhaps it's time to pop a xanax! lol!

Thanks Vanessa. You are so sweet! I think as long as I don't screw up any more, I'll be fine. I have 3 days to do the liquids, exercise, and like you said...I'm sure the bowel prep will flush away my sins!
I haven't had anything (except water) since the "incident" and I did walk for 45 mins on my treadmill tonight...so back on track I go!

Default You'll be fine

Like was said we are only human. I'm sure after 11 days you were hungry and with the anxiety of everything getting so close it is understandable. As much as we all want or wanted the surgery there will still be the stress of major surgery to contend with. Hang in there Elaine and I am so excited to start watching you shrink away. Good Luck

Elaine~
This so much like after surgery too...you know what you have to do....you do sooooo good...trip here and there BUT the key is getting back on the track when you derail.

That is the REAL DEAL

Fast forward to your surgery date: Docs are all standing around an operating table w/nurses bustling to and fro. The lights are all eerily dim except for a bright beam shining down on the patient lying prone...

Doc 1: (shaking his head) Just too bad. Close 'er up.
Doc 2: Yep, such a waste. (to nurse) Someone call to get me a tee time.
Doc 1: It was that darn sandwich and chips! How did that get in there when I'm positive I told her liquids only for 2 weeks? Can I join you for a round?
Nurse: Shall we reschedule in six months after another supervised diet, 2 weeks of liquid and another bowel prep, doctor?
Fade to black.

Yeah, Right! You'll be fine!! Stop stressing. I'm betting the stress of eating the sammy and chips is doing more harm than the meal!

Sorry for the morbid humor!
