Well, after all the worry and anxiety about this liquid diet thing, it's been just fine! For my 2 week diet I have 6 shakes a day ( 2 scoops at breakfast & mid am, 3 scoops at lunch, 1 scoop for snack, 2 for dinner, and 1 for pm snack), but the savior is I can have 2 cups of veggies per day!!! So, I've managed to stay pretty happy and feeling just fine! I was worried I'd be lightheaded or starving...but so far, so good. The beauty is that I've lost 4 pounds already! I've lost 12 since my visit last month, so I think he'll be pleased. I go back to see him next Thursday for my post op visit. I went to the post op class yesterday...and when they explained the reasons for the liquid diet and how if he gets in there and finds that liver is too big, he'll postpone the surgery. He's had to do that to a few patients. Can you imagine waking up and finding you've had no surgery! That would suck so bad! After hearing that, I have had no desire to "cheat"...all I'd be doing is cheating myself.
