I can understand your attitude, but I don't think it's fair to compare right now with post surgery. It's not like I was trying to justify eating pizza. I wasn't trying to reason myself into something bad for me and of course I won't jeopardize my life post surgery by doing something inappropriate.
Did anyone else who's posting here actually have to do clear liquids with only three low calorie protein shakes per day? Six would have been heaven!
I was ingesting less than 300 calories per day and I weighed over 300 lbs. I don't really think it's realistic to say I should have soldiered through that when I passed out on day 5 from weakness and had blurry vision. I'm on day 10 and I've lost 16 lbs.
I'm not posting here to start an argument with anyone. If you disagree with me, that's fine. I just wanted to express my feelings. I'm sure this post will get a lot of sneers and an "oh, she's doomed" attitude, but I'm posting it anyway. I didn't intend to start off on the wrong foot in this forum at all and I'm surprised that it happened.
I'm leaving for surgery on Tuesday morning and I hope everyone wishes me well, I'm sure you do even if you disagree with me on the vegetable thing.

It is just our concern for you that makes us question things. I didn't read that you had passed out, that you were down to 300 calories etc. It is normal to feel weak when you change your eating habits so drastically, but passing out is a little over the edge.
I had to lose 10% of my body weight before being referred to surgery, so I know all about doing things that feel impossible and unkind, but I did it anyway. Also, had to do 2 weeks clear liquids after surgery, but it was more than 300 calories a day. Do you have that to look forward to post-op too?
Of course everyone wishes you luck on your surgery - you just used a few words that threw up red flags and caused us concern for you. So, don't worry, you haven't gotten off on the wrong foot with us and I'm sure you'll be fine. Just be careful post-op and really be sure to do what your doctor says to the letter! Get ready to sip, walk, rest and repeat!
