My Doctor order a CT of my liver and from that results required me to have a liver biopsy done pre-op. Had the procedure done today. I was wondering if anyone else has had this done pre-op???

Do you know what in the liver they were taking the biopsy of??? Was it a random biopsy or was there a mass/cyst etc.?? Do you have a history of hepatitis??? Hard to say without knowing, but let us know how it comes back.

Thanks for the replies. I don't have a history of hep or anything else. I was told that my doctor regularly ask for a pre-op biopsy if the liver seems too large on the CT and then he will take another on the day of GBS. I guess the first is to get a baseline before I start my two week liquid diet. It just seemed extreme to me and was wondering if anyone else had to go through the same thing.
