Default After Surgery Hospital Stay

What has been the average hospital stay after Laproscopic surgery? And how long after are most people able to get back to work?
I had an appointment with my surgeon today and he is going to put paperwork through to the insurance company. Of course he said since I work for a hospital and have hospital insurance, they don't see there being any kind of problem. I have jumped through every other hoop put in front of me so I hopefully this last one will go by fast.

I only stayed overnight in the hospital. I am out of work for 4-6 weeks but I have to be able to lift 50 lbs. before I return others at work that have desk jobs are out around 2-3 weeks. It all depends on your surgeon.

I was in the hospital for 3 days and went back to work after a month. I could have gone back to work after 2 weeks but i had the chance to take the extra time off so I took it!

My stay was 2 days. I think the time back to work depends on the person and the job. It seems anywhere from 2-6 weeks. Welcome tot he board!

I am scheduled for 10/23. Staying in the hospital 2 nights, and returning to work on 11/1. That's the dream! One of our nurses had it done a few months ago and she came back in a week with no problem. I guess it depends on the job and the person. I'm hoping to be one of the lucky ones with no complications who bounces back soon!!!!!

I went into hospital 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, for a 1 p.m. surgery, and was home Friday by noon. I'm 2 weeks home now and feel really good, except if I do a lot around the house I get tired very easily. I will give it another week and a half to 2 before going back to work.

I was in the hospital over night. I had surgery at noon and was released about 3 pm the next day. I was allowed to go back to work after 2 weeks but I am a nurse in a critical care unit and I do alot of heavy lifting and pulling. I wasn't real eager to get back that soon. I also am in a rather high infection area. I went back after 4 weeks and did okay, though even at that point I was pretty tired when the work day ended.
