What to bring to the hospital?
I have a tendency to overpack and I was just wondering what you guys would reccommend to take to the hospital and what to leave at home?
Thanks
Jenna

I had the same problem! I had my surgery on 9/7/06 I thought I wanted my own night gown (I would be more comfterable) I didn't care what I was wearing!!! I am glad that I took my robe because my doc wanted me up and walking around the same day. And we all know the lovely gowns they give you don't hide much!
robe
slippers
small pillow (for the ride home)
loose fitting clothes
phone list
that is all I used from home I wore the clothes home that I wore up there. I didn't care to brush my teeth.
I only stayed one night I am not sure how long others stay, If you do stay longer you might want something for entertainment.

Depending on the hospital...they usually have toothpaste and stuff like that.
Chapstick is number one.
Pillow to put in between you and the seatbelt for the ride home.
Comfy loose clothes to wear home.
I brought slippers and had to use their non-slip peds socks.
Basically, when I have surgeries now, I bring myself and wear comfy clothes and bring my pillow in the car. If I have outpatient, I always bring my comfy, soft blanket for the car ride because the anethesia makes me cold.
Good luck.

I brought very little but my surgeon only keeps his lap RNY patients over night, so I didn't need much. Basicly it was chap stick, comfy clothes for the ride home, slippers and my needed toiletrie items like shampoo, toothpaste, etc. I brought a book but never opened it.
Good luck tomorrow, we'll be saving a place for you on the loser's bench!
