6-month Medically Supervised Diet/Exercise Program - ThinnerTimes

My insurance company recently denied the request for surgery, and says it needs a 6-month medically program.....blah, blah, blah. My surgeon's office is appealing as soon as possible, but my appointment to start this program is this coming up Tuesday.

My question is for those out there who were also turned down the first time, and completed the 6-month program. Were you then approved, or are they going to come back with something else they need? Mind you, I'm with BC/BS PPO and they do not have an exclusion. This is a covered benefit when "medically necessary".

This is very frustrating, because I was ready to have this surgery yesterday! I won't give up easily. The good news is my surgeon's office seems very on top of things and very aggressive when it comes to appeals.

you sound just like me. i want it now. i have no insurance coverage tho.

I am toward the end of my six month program. There is no getting out of it for me, so her I am. I am told that after class at my DR and the group they are working with the always approve the surgery. My DR has put in a request 3x since class started and I got denials and they said finish your classes.

I understand your frustration. But one a good note the class has been very informative.
