Is it wierd that I'm not nervous?
I only have three days to go and I am not nervous. I had my pre-op yesterday and even though I thought that would make me nervous, it didn't. Same goes with being at the hospital and seeing the rooms, getting all of my binders, breathers, soap, etc. and having my final bloodwork done. Today I picked up the prescriptions the doctor gave to me - nothing. I am not at all nervous or anxious! Everyone keeps asking me if I am or if I'm freaking out about getting everything ready and I am not. Then they give me this wierd look and walk away. I think the only thing that is really kinda freaking me out is that I'm not freaking out! Anyone else go through this?

Jenna,
I wasn't very nervous. I was so full of excitement, impatience, and gratitude that I had little room for nerves!

Wow Jenna, I wish I was feeling the same way you are. I'm a week and four days away from my surgery and I've had a few crying spells(can't really tell why, I just start bawling out of nowhere). I'm on the fourth day of the liquid diet and I keep on getting this little nagging thoughts that tell me to just drop it all and go buy a pizza and a two liter coke and stuff it all down in one sitting, but I just shake it off and move on. Be grateful that you're not a little basket case like I am. I wish you the best of luck and that these three days fly by for you.

I was not very nervous. the week before my surgery,I had so much to get done that I did not have time to get anxious or nervous. I had so much support and gained so much information from this board that I knew what I was getting myself into. i just had my plastic surgery three days ago and was really nervous with it becasue I did not do enough research or have friends here in Rhode Island yet for support.

Nerves?
I don't know if it is wierd or not, I am pre-op too. But I don't have a firm date yet, only a tentative "maybe Oct. 20 or 27th." What I am going through is pre-pre-op nerves. I am so emotional most of the time! I feel like once I get an actual surgery date, and get closer I will probably calm down, and feel like you do now, not nervous at all. At least, I hope this is what will happen!
Good luck & let us know how it goes.

I found my final days just prior to surgery to be an emotional time. Knowing that my life was about to change permanently really caused me to reflect a lot and to focus on what I needed to do to successfully transition through the surgery. Long walks in the evening were great opportunities to work through last minute doubts and to motivate myself.
