Approved and waiting for a date!
Hey there peeps! I called my insurance company today and they approved me! I talked to my surgeon's office and she said she has about 4 charts ahead of me to schedule, but she'll call me with my date by tomorrow or Friday at the latest! Woohooo! It's most likely going to be the end of October/first of November because I want Dr Sasse only! He's the best in our area and worth the wait. I'm excited...and will be more excited once I actually have a date. I'll keep you posted. Can't wait to be on the losing end of this journey! Tell me, what should I buy before surgery. I have Protein shake mixes, Chewable Calcium, liquid Centrum, liquid B vitamins, soup, sf popsicles, sf pudding, anything else you can think of that I'll be needing???

HOW THRILLING! But what torture, really the woman had you on the phone, she couldn't schedule you then? It looks like you've pretty much got what you'll need for the first few weeks anyway! oh yeah, make sure the remote and cordless phone have fresh, charged batteries!

Yes, I called the surgeon's office when I got the word I'd been approved from my insurance company. I'm sure we are supposed to wait for the surgeon's office to call us, but I had to call and see if she had a date for me yet. I'm not real patient when it comes to these life changing things! She did have my chart right there, but to be fair, she has to do them in order, so had 4 or 5 ahead of me. Craptastic! Oh well, I've waited this long, what's another day or two? I need to get going on the diet anyway! I was supposed to start 2 weeks ago trying to lose 10%! I've been walking everyday, but still eating way too much. I am going to try Medifast for the post op diet. I'm supposed to be on a liquid diet for 2 weeks, but I'm going to try to do it starting tomorrow until the actual surgery date so that I can lose as much as possible. I don't want to be any heavier at my next weigh in than I was on Aug 31st when I last saw him. I haven't gained any, but haven't lost any either....well, perhaps with my period I will have lost a pound or two, but nothing significant!

Elaine big congrats on your approval. I can imagie your excitement. Elaine don't buy to much stuff. It is good to have those things on hand but sometimes after surgery you might not like them as well as you did post-op or post-op you might get real sick of taking or drinking the same thing. Buy chap stick, house shoes, a nice size pillow, maybe some Gas-X, some Propel and mayeb a good read.
