I wouldn't worry about it! You always lose the most at the beginning, and this will give you a healthy start for when you get your surgery.

I gained too......mine never mentioned me losing any. In fact, I gained between pre-op visit and surgery, so my surgeon's office doesn't award me all the credit due.

I probably would have done the same. I remember a nurse asking me why I was gaining weight on phentermine. I remember wanting to smack her!!! She sure didn't hesitate to take my money though and say "hopefully next week you will lose" I always convinced myself that I would lose, but it never happened...I kept going up and paying more money.

Default wow am I glad to find this forum

I searched in msn to see if there was anything about my Doctor (Nohr) and it led me to Lisa's story and that's how I found all of you. I have been totally freaking out, not sure what to expect and voila here you are all, thank you for sharing your stories, it is making my stomach less full of butterflies.

I think you are worrying about the wrong things. If you can lose the weight without the surgery then that's spectacular! Don't get me wrong, the surgery is a great tool(I'll say it many times), but if it's a tool you don't need then that's awesome!! It's hard work regardless of what way you decide to lose weight. If you can do it without body altering surgery then you should go for it. I can think of at least one person on this forum that was denied for surgery but has gone on to lose a good bit of weight thru exercise and diet.

I'd just like to add, either way don't get frustrated!

Default 10%

I had to lose 10% of my weight before they'd consider me for the surgery, so I'm sure you'll be fine. And if in doubt - ASK! Also, I don't know about you, but the first couple months of any diet I've ever done were easy compared to later - so really - you should be so lucky as to lose too much.

My guess is, if your ins. company requires the 6 month thing, but not your surgeon, he'll do the surgery even if you lose more weight. I would be really suprised if they turned you away because you were too successful!

The surgeon will always use your weight on your INITIAL appointment when they sumbmit your paperwork to your insurance company. Don't worry. Just do the diet. Lose what you can and start your way towards a healthier you. Good luck.
