Default How long did you have to have someone stay with you after wls????

I am really having a hard time thinking of asking anyone to help me out. But I know I am going to need it.

I really didn't need anyone. I was okay, but my hubby did set up a 'command central' for me with the cordless phone, my laptop, meds & vits, and liquids on a table next to the recliner. I was fine while he was at work. If you live alone you might want to just have someone check on you from time to time. Truly, the first couple of days I just wanted to sleep and watch my soaps, lol.

Lynda, I'm glad you didn't need anyone. I really hope I don't. I am the type of person that likes to be left alone. My mil said she would watch my kids for a few days if I needed her to.

Thanks for replying. I am worrying about so much and my journey hasn't even started yet.

If your MIL is offering to take the kids...I would highly recommend it!! My hubby stayed home with me for a couple of days, but the kids still went to school...so that was nice. When they got home he kept them entertained so that I could rest.

OH I would definitely take your MIL up on the offer to take care of your kids for a few days. My only child is 17 and was here if I had an emergency or something.

My mom watched my kids for about a week adn it made all the difference. I was able to fend for myself while my husband was at work without any problems.

I am so glad to hear that you were able to make it a week or less with/out help. I was hoping it wouldn't be a couple of weeks or months thing. I also homeschool and don't want to get too behind on the kids schooling.

The only thing about my mil is that she is so unreliable. She says one thing and then does another, so I don't want to completely rely on her. She is a good person she just changes her mind about things. I guess you could say she is kinda flaky about things like that.

How old are your kids? Mine are 11 1/2 and 16, so I they were great to help me. My daughter, the youngest, is always such a hassel, but she was my little nurse maid through this! She was better than anyone. She waited on my hand and foot and helped me get up and down. I think she even watched me while I slept! LOL I remember waking up and seeing her sitting across the room staring at me. LOL

What's a MIL? (man I feel so out of the loop today! black eyes pees post) My parents stayed with me for a week. I really didn't need much help durning the day. It was at night when I needed to get up to go to the bathroom that I needed most of the help. It was nice to have them there but I was happy when I was all alone. I live alone so having people in my house 24/7 was a bit much for me.
