Unhappy nausea help 3.5 weeks out

Help I am 3.5 weeks out and now I have constant nausea. Even water upsets me. My doc said to continue on liquids and I may have a blockage near my pouch opening and may need a scope with a balloon.
Has anyone had this? I just can not live with this nausea. I am going crazy and getting weaker and weaker. Please help.

Andrea there has been a couple of members here who have suffered from extreme nausea and who have had to go back in and have their opening ballooned a little bigger. Andrea get that taken care of as soon as possible, mainly if you can't get anything down. You need some sort of hydration and it has been to long. I hope it gets taken care of soon and you are feeling better.

This sounds awful - you poor thing. I can't tolerate plain water at all - it make my pouch hurt. When I have "ouchie pouchie" I have warm broth or soup. That seems to help, but if you have a blockage or stricture, you need medical help ASAP! Are you trying anything with protein - I know you feel awful - but do you tolerate protein drinks? If you aren't getting in any protein or enough liquids, you may be better off asking your doc to get you into the hospital for rehydration and this ballon scope. Why wait, right?

I would stay on your doctor. How long does he want you to wait?? You sound pretty miserable.

I, too was nauseous in the beginning in the morning. I discovered that if I had a bottle of water, I would make sure it was cut in half with peppermint tea - it was yummy and really made my pouch happy. I discovered this trick at about 3 or so weeks out, and was soooo dehydrated, and then because hydrated again when I started drinking the mixture because it settled my pouch right off the bat.

I hate to sound like a real bummer but I had nausea every day for almost 7 months straight. It didn't matter what I ate, how fast or how slow I ate it, if it was hot or cold and drinking was no better. I started having anxiety problems because I was making myself sick just thinking about eating. I never vomited though. I had an upper GI twice just to make sure the pouch was functioning properly and it was. Then one day, I realized that I had gone almost the entire day without feeling sick to my stomach. Then the next day was the same and it's been good ever since. It's like I made it over the hump and it's all good now. If you can't eat or drink and are vomiting, I wouldn't waste any time getting back to the surgeon. But if you are just nauseated, try and play with how fast or slow you eat, what you eat and when you drink. It didn't really help for me but that is what I was told to do. Good Luck!!

I got on this morning to ask the very same question! I'm not vomiting or anything and I can force myself to drink in the morning (although not nearly enough). But it's miserable always having this upset pouch. It's like nothing makes it happy. For me, by about 6pm I can actually get some food in and be happy, and I drink much more in the evenings. I'm going to try the peppermint tea trick. I wish I could help you feel better, but I can't, I'm sorry. Just know you aren't alone and everyone has you in their thoughts!!
