I ran out of soy milk and have been using my kids' 1 1/2 % milk in my shakes and I must have some lactose intolerance going on. Rushing to the bathroom periodically for resolution. Yogurts and cheeses don't impact me but actual milk goes back out pretty quickly. It doesn't bother me but it does make me feel bad for mistymee who is blocked up. Maybe she just needs a large glass of milk.

Aww... thanks for that Ardita! lol.

I use skim for my protein shakes this week, as that's all we've ever bought. Do you think trying some other milk might help? (I'm willing to try just about anything!) I mean- I go.. but it's almost like miniature poo. lol..

Kel, I doubt full fat milk would help you. You know you're not lactose intolerant 'cause you can tolerate skim milk just fine, so that wouldn't make you go. Does fat do that to you? I'm thinking you tolerate fat OK, right?

I'm sorry you're still stopped up.

Thanks, Kelly.. unfortunately I tolerate almost EVERYTHING. I'm hoping the 5dpt made me more sensitive.. I think I'm going to work on the assumption that it did and just try not 'going there' know what I mean?

I took something stronger last night- nothing to speak of happened.. tomorrow is my 1st anniversary and we're on the road so I'm just going to wait, but Monday? It's time for some serious intervention, if you know what I mean, LOL

Well, just not going there is probably a good idea. I tried sugar once, fairly early out, and I dumped big time. But I don't know if I still dump on sugar or not. I have not tried it again. And I don't plan on it. I will just assume I still dump. I really would not want to learn that I don't. I don't know what made me try it in the first place, really. It was kind of stupid.

I used to be on some meds years ago that made me really, really constipated. It's miserable. I found some laxative that was the only thing that worked. But I can't remember the name of it. But it was not consistent in terms of how many hours it took to kick in. So I was afraid to take it during the week because what if I didn't go before I had to go to work in the morning? When it did kick in, it kept me in the bathroom a good while. And, umm, I stunk. Bad. So I would only use it on the weekend. Which meant I pooped once a week. Toward the end of the week, I was just miserable. My doctor was an idiot. She tried to tell me pooping once a week was just fine. Why are there so many stupid doctors out there?

I can do yogurt, sf pudding and cheese galore but have had to use lactose free fat free milk for my shakes since the beginning. Soy I tolerate but not as well as walmarts lactaid type milk I totally felt like a guinea pig in the beginning now I pretty much know what "sets me off" and what "stops me up" LOL but it took awhile

Well I had about 150ml 2% milk last night and there are no issues this morning, so I'm hoping it's only full fat milk that makes that happen.

This is what I was thinking too. I used to be a HUGE milk drinker, now I can't. I have such severe lactose intolerance that I get sick if I have cereal. I switched to lactose free, fat free milk and I'm fine. It may not be the fat at all, but the lactose. You can try taking lactaid or get some probiotics. My surgeon said that might help.

Okay, so I'm a little late getting in here.

Because I haven't had higher fat content in a while, I get SO nauseous when I do eat something higher in fat. I had a crab chowder that I couldn't eat much of because it just felt like it was churning to come back up. The same thing happens when I try to eat peanut butter.

I've only had fat free milk since the month leading up to surgery and beyond, so I'm not sure about full fat milk (which I don't even like, never have, I've been on 2% all my life until recently).

I have to admit to sticking my finger in a jar of chocolate frosting. I put the fingertip of it into my mouth and gagged. It just tasted like grease and sugar, and the taste of all that made me super nauseous. How the hell did I eat that stuff by the spoonful before? My son stuck a french fry in my mouth the other day, same thing. I spit that RIGHT out, ugh.

I get nauseous to some extent every time I eat, though. One of those "side effects" that are supposed to go away over time.

I, too, wish I could find something other than nasty milk of magnesia to get myself to "go."
