Default Surgery yesterday

I guess I'm now officially post-op. I had the sleeve gastrectomy yesterday and am sitting in a chair beside my hospital bed, using my laptop. Things could have gone better with respect to my room, but public relations has already been up to see me and apologize for all the goof-ups.

When the nurse who runs the program came up to see me today and saw I was using my laptop i told her I just ordered a pizza. Her face dropped a second before she realized I was kidding. I'm am, however, looking forward to my first thimble-full of liquid meal replacement. Right now I'd be really happy to have a tall glass if ice water, but they're also rationing out water in thimble-sized cups.

Congratulations, Caribbea for being post-op. You'll be home either today or tomorrow.
Welcome to the losers bench!

That's how I feel -- anything under 200 would be lovely and the further down I get FROM 200, would be absolutely freekin'tastic!

Nearly 16 TEN pound bowling balls down... OMG, let me pinch myself!

I don't want to know how much I have left to lose -- I find it encouraging to see how far I've come!

Default June 4th

I'm having mine on June 4. My dr required a 10 day pre-surgery liquid diet which has been quite challenging. The first 3 days were horrible, now I'm feeling much better - but very hungry.

Glad to hear your surgery went well. Keep us up to date on your progress. It looks like we are at very similar weights (I was 359 before liquid diet).

Congratulations Caribbea on your surgery. WOW, you're a TROOPER to be on your laptop so soon. It's sooo AMAZING. Well keep us posted and I hope for a speedy recovery.

It's been a week since surgery. Had my follow-up with the doc today to get my godawful drain removed. The good news is that I've lost 20 lbs in one week!

I'm so sick of sweet protein drinks. The doc suggested I get unflavored protein power and add it to things I like, like soup and V-8 juice, so I'm going to try that. I was so desperate for something that wasn't sweet that I went to a Chinese restaurant today to get egg drop soup. Unfortunately, they don't have it, so I got hot and sour soup. I managed to have about 5 spoons of broth and brought the rest of it home. At least it wasn't sweet!

Unjury's unflavoured protein powder was about as good as I could find and their chicken soup made a pleasant change from the regular shake type protein drinks: UNJURY Unflavored Whey Protein: Medical Quality Unflavored Protein Powder Mix
